Using up old gift cards

February 5th, 2015 at 06:04 pm

For several months, I've been trying to figure out how to use 3 gifts card with $2 or less. They've just been sitting in my wallet. Yesterday, after some googling, I found that I could purchase e-gift cards for Amazon and credit them to my account. I now have about 5 bucks sitting on my account for whenever I next need something from Amazon and less clutter in my wallet!

I don't understand. Were these Amazon gift cards? Or something else?

They were just random visa gift cards (like rebate cards), and I had very minimal balances, but didn't want to throw them away. I used them to buy Amazon gift cards for the exact value (just has to be over 50 cents), and then redeemed the Amazon gift cards for a credit to my account that never expires and will be applied to my next purchase.

I'll be getting a $100 Visa ecard soon (hopefully) as a reward from a health app - I will probably do something like this - purchase an AGC for that amount - that way I don't have to worry about use fees or whatever. Smile
